Computer Classes

Computer classes may be scheduled in the various libraries  - Mid-County Regional Library, Port Charlotte Library, Punta Gorda Library or Englewood Library.  Check the EVENTS section of the website for upcoming classes.  These classes are free.  For more information, contact Jim Maloney, Education Chair, via email by clicking his name.   
Basic Computers

Open Office
Open Office is a product of Sun Microsystems and it is an open-source application suite whose main components are word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics and database. It is distributed by download from the internet. It will recognize several different file formats including Windows and Mac and Linux applications.  It emulates Windows and most of the toolbar icons will be recognized as similar to Windows. It will open and save Word Perfect files (.dat) and Word files (doc). You can’t beat the price – it’s free. CLICK HERE to download the class handout.   
Photos
Learn how to copy, edit, and insert digital photos. This class shows how to move photos from paper copies into a computer, using a scanner. You will also learn how to move photos from a digital camera to a computer and how to attach photos to e-mail.
