In that light, there are a number of awards presented periodically to our members who have achieved outstanding contributions for the benefit of the Society.
Charlotte County Genealogical Society Awards
Honorary Membership is presented to members who consistently have provided outstanding service to the Society over a number of years.
Patricia A. Owen Award is for providing excellent leadership and organizational management resulting in the membership growth, fiscal health and regional influence of the CCGS, for developing new programs, projects or activities which greatly benefit the membership in pursuing their genealogical goals and for working with other organizations resulting in mutual benefit for the goals of all.
Helen Green Award is for exceptional work in developing, maintaining and improving the written, electronic and personal resources in the local libraries available to the CCGS membership and for research activities which have provided the membership with greater genealogical data for
the local area.
William E. Christian Award is for excellent and proper communications to, for and with the CCGS membership and for development of educational programs, public relations and other communications events that improve the knowledge of persons wanting to become more involved with genealogy.
Florida State Genealogical Society Award Genealogy Outstanding Achievement Award is given for contributions to the field of Genealogy for five or more years.
Federation of Genealogical Societies Award The Ruth C. Bishop Family History Volunteer Hall of Honor.
