March General Meeting
2:00 pm - 4:00 pm Holy Trinity Lutheran Church
“In Law and in Genealogy, Some Evidence Is Better Than Others”
Presenter: Susan Snow.
Honorable Susan Snow retired in 2000 after serving for nearly nineteen years as an Associate Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois. As a judge, Susan continually evaluated evidence presented to the court to make decisions. Genealogists also must evaluate evidence carefully to arrive at sound conclusions. Susan will explain why the legal model of evaluating evidence offers good comparisons for family history research.
Judge Snow is a past president of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, and chaired the education committee of the Domestic Relations Division. She initiated FOCUS on Children, the parent education program for the Circuit Court of Cook County, and the Unified Family Court Model in which she served.
