Charlotte Bay Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was founded on October 11, 1890. It is a service organization dedicated to service to the Nation. The objectives of DAR are Historic Preservation, Promotion of Education and Patriotic Endeavors. Chapter meetings are held the 4th Monday of each month, October through May, inclusive, with exceptions. The Charlotte Bay Chapter is located in S. W. Florida with members from Punta Gorda, Port Charlotte area.

The Federation of Genealogical Societies links the genealogical community by: serving the needs of its member societies, providing products and services needed by member societies and
marshaling the resources of its member organizations
FGS was founded in 1976 and represents the members of hundreds of genealogical societies. FGS links the genealogical community by helping genealogical societies strengthen and grow. To do this, FGS publishes FORUM magazine, filled with articles pertaining to society management and genealogical news. FGS also publishes an extensive series of Society Strategy Papers, covering topics about effectively operating a genealogical society. FGS also links the genealogical community through its annual conference -- four days of excellent lectures, including one full day devoted to society management topics.

We are the oldest genealogical society in Florida, founded in 1958. Our meetings are normally held at 10:30 AM on the first Saturday of the month at the John F. Germany Library, 900 North Ashley Drive, in downtown Tampa. However, our annual Fall Seminar is traditionally held on another Saturday in September at another location. |

The society publishes source materials and family history, while encouraging seminars, workshops and similar educational meetings in the State of Florida. All genealogy societies in the State of Florida are members of FSGS at no charge. |

We are located in beautiful Naples Florida, and are dedicated to researching and recording family histories, as well as teaching and assisting researchers. Members serve as volunteers in the Genealogy Room at the Collier County Regional Library, 650 Central Avenue . The Society meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in Moss Hall at Moorings Presbyterian Church, 791 Harbour Drive. Guests are welcome at meetings and seminars. |

Meetings are held on the second Saturday of each month at 1:00 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Lakeland, 3140 Troy Avenue. Programs are topics of genealogical interest along with those related to use of the Internet as a resource. Meetings are open to the public. |
